Plus 27 members of the Association.
WELCOME – John Archer welcomed members to the 18th AGM. John thanked the Auditors and colleagues who have supported him over the last year. John had been unable to speak to Sheila to see if she wanted to continue as minute’s secretary. Subsequent to the meeting Sheila says she no longer wishes to carry on in her current role. The Auditors are willing to continue in their role. John asked if anyone wanted to become part of the committee. All members were happy for the current committee to continue.

MINUTES – The minutes of the meeting held on 4th June 2026 was accepted, having been posted online and circulated.
MATTERS ARISING –
Building on Kings Hill. John said that Coventry population forecast of 400,000 had not been taken into account that student would be going back overseas to their home and that the decline in population had not been taken into account.
LOCAL POLICE UPDATE – That the PACT meeting seemed to have a limited effect and due to the poor attendance, there was little involvement of the public. The latest crime figure was for May were very similar to those for April. Styvechale Grange is still a relatively safe area. PCSO Paul Jackson reports weekly. Shop lifting at the BP Garage and Cannon Park. Some car thefts in Finham. Tile Hill play zone was damaged. Scam book was available for loan from John or can be purchased from Amazon. Coventry Antisocial behaviour week in Broadgate but no report of how many people had been arrested. Cannon Hill road parking area was being used for car repairs, but no prosecution could take place as the signage was the wrong colour.
COUNCILLOR. John Blundell. - John Blundell referred to two people who had passed away. Harry Noble City Architect, David Skinner Councillor for Westwood. Finham Festival was not well attended and should be publicised more. The Under Croft at St Mary's is not open every day. This is run by Coombe Abbey management. Free entry to St Mary's Hall may encourage more people to attend the Under Croft Café. Matt Walters Head of Grange Farm School was to contact Mark Hughes to discuss school parking issues.
STREETWATCH Anant was unable to attend but an email stated that no problems had been encountered.
TREASURER’S REPORT – Finances
Currently have £1190.65. School Finance officer requested that we pay monthly by Direct Debit. Mick to investigate DD with Coventry Building Society. School hire fee for July 2nd to be paid within 7 days of the meeting. Mick requested Finance to provide termly invoice. Ann Duffy advises that this will be the responsibility of the incoming Finance officer.
Website 460 new users. 106 UK. 55 USA and others form the rest of the world.
Facebook Not being used.
ANY OTHER BUSINESS –
Mark Hughes suggested that the school should see SGRA as community support and that this could help the school as part of the OFSTED requirements. Mattie Heaven Councillor may be able to discuss is with the headmaster Matt Walters at their next meeting.
Grey Friars Arts and Recreation Society meet at St James on the Grange. They are looking for more local residents to attend their meeting. Fee £3 per meeting £7 per year membership.
Godiva in the City will be in Broadgate. Week ending 4th July.
Bands in the park start on Sunday 5th July at Allesley Park. The band will be The Sax Pistols.
Friends of the Memorial Park invited us to attend the Sensory Garden. John, Mick, and Judith will attend on the 21st of July.
20-mile speed limit was discussed on the Grange. John Blundell to look into this. Earlsdon had been involved in the consultation process and local residents had seen a reduction in overall speed.
Judith Cule outlined the parking on the bend in Barnack. John Blundell to investigate. Double Yellow lines could be considered.
The meeting concluded with the raffle.
